Cultural and Humanitarian Cooperation
In recent years, thanks to the favorable conditions created, there has been a noticeable deepening of cultural and humanitarian ties and an intensification of cooperation in the field of tourism exchange.
Creative groups of the two countries participate in major international events, including the international music festival "Sharq Taronalari" in Samarkand, the Makom Art Festival, the Bakhshi Art Festival in Shakhrisabz and Termez, among others.
Representatives of the Kyrgyz side take part annually in the international competition for the National Awards "Oltin Qalam."
Mutual tours of theatrical groups, as well as troupes of academic, dramatic and musical-dramatic theaters, orchestras, and circus ensembles of the two countries continue.
Close and fruitful cooperation has been established between the state museums of the two countries.
Cooperation in the field of education is also developing. In particular, Uzbekistan has allocated 20 educational grants for citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic to study at universities of our country for the 2025–2026 academic years. In turn, Kyrgyzstan has allocated 30 state-funded places for ethnic Kyrgyz residing in Uzbekistan to study at higher education institutions of the Kyrgyz Republic for the upcoming academic year. Kyrgyz schoolchildren regularly participate in international mathematics and chemistry Olympiads held in Uzbekistan.
Within the framework of cultural and humanitarian cooperation, Culture and Cinema Days of Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan, Rectors’ Forums, the Dialogue of Generations, as well as theater tours are being organized.
Cultural exchange between the border regions of the two countries is also increasing.
