The President of Uzbekistan: If mahalla is landscaped, then the country will be landscaped
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev got acquainted with the life of Dustlik mahalla in Tashkent city’s Yangihayot district, reports “Dunyo” IA correspondent.
According to the press service of the Head of the state, there are 11 apartment buildings. Over 4 thousand people live here. A vocational college, a pre-school education institution, pharmacies, shops, and consumer services operate in the mahalla.
Previously, the mahalla was left without due attention. Last year, it was landscaped as part of the “Obod Mahalla” (Prosperous Neighborhood) program. A children’s playground and sports grounds were built, shops and ateliers were opened.
The Head of the state examined the construction and landscaping activities, talked with a chairman of the mahalla and an assistant hokim.
“Our people deserve to live in such a comfortable, beautiful environment. This is the goal of our efforts to organize activities in the context of mahallas. Now there should be a friendly atmosphere and good neighborly relations in the mahalla. You can hold events in the spirit of the values inherent in our people”, Shavkat Mirziyoyev said.
In the new building of the citizens’ assembly, a meeting was held with mahalla activists, representatives of the older generation.
“Mahalla is the fundamental foundation of the state”, the President said. – If it is landscaped, then the country will be landscaped. You can see that times are turbulent. Just as there is no family without conflicts, there is no state in which there would be no difficulties. We carry out our plans patiently, relying on science, hard work and actions.
Based on the new system introduced in the country, assistant hokims and youth leaders have been appointed in 30 mahallas of Yangihayot district.
“Before, people went with their problems to the hokimiyat, wrote letters. Now there are representatives of the President in each mahalla. They should study the situation of families, help those who need help, organize trainings for unemployed, allocate preferential loans and subsidies”, the Head of the state said.
