Uzbekistan proposed to hold the First SCO Regional Tourism Forum in Bukhara
Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade Jamshid Khodjayev, in his speech at the SCO Member States’ Heads of Regions Forum, proposed to hold the First SCO Regional Tourism Forum in 2023 in Uzbekistan, reports “Dunyo” IA correspondent.
“There is a huge potential for building up a partnership in the tourism sector between our countries. The organization's states have many unique monuments of history and culture, nature and architecture”, Jamshid Khodjayev noted. – We can actively develop ecological, healthcare and pilgrimage tourism. The regions should play a leading role, offering citizens modern and interesting tourist destinations and products.
At the same time, the pandemic has contributed to the emergence of additional opportunities associated with the use of modern information and communication technologies. The provision of contactless services, such as virtual tours, cloud exhibitions and others, allows for reducing operating costs and increasing the international tourism experience.
In this regard, we propose to launch the annual SCO Regional Tourism Forum, at which the leadership and representatives of our tourism ministries and agencies, large private companies and associations will be able to work together on new joint initiatives in the current realities and compliance with all necessary epidemiological procedures.
We propose to hold the First Forum in March 2023 in Bukhara.
