Presidents of Uzbekistan and France Agree on the Development of High-Level Comprehensive Partnership

The leaders noted with satisfaction the dynamic development of bilateral ties, deepening a broad political dialogue, the provision of mutual support as a part of the international organizations, the promotion of inter-parliamentary dialogue in the year of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Uzbekistan and France.

The soldiers of the Republican Guard of France lined up on the square in honor of the distinguished guest. A military orchestra performed the national anthems of the two countries. The ceremony concluded with a solemn march of the Guard of honor.

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Minister Delegate for Foreign Trade, Economic Attractiveness and French Nationals Abroad Olivier Becht saw a guard of honor and greeted the members of official delegations.

The Samarkand summit lays a new architecture of cooperation in the OTS space

On 11 November, an important international event took place in Samarkand – the first summit of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), formed instead of the Turkic Council, under the motto «A new era of Turkic civilization: towards common progress and prosperity».

The event brought together the leaders of all members of the association, as well as the heads of the Secretariat and various structures of the Organization (TURKSOY, TURKPA, the International Turkic Academy, the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation).

The Samarkand meeting of the leaders of the Turkic countries made it possible to discuss in detail both projects to strengthen economic, investment, transport, energy and technological ties, and to resolve urgent issues of institutionalizing the activities of the OTS.

Strengthening partnership in Central Asia and prospects for cooperation between France and the region

This is reflected in the Strategy of Actions on priority areas of the country's development until 2021 and the Development Strategy until 2026, the priority of which is the principle "From the Strategy of Actions to the Strategy of Development". The result of conceptual programs and cardinal reforms were the prerequisites for the construction of a New Uzbekistan and the Third Renaissance.
